SCS/SB 41 - The act provides that school board rules shall apply to students of all ages and to both full-time and part-time students unless otherwise provided within the rules.

Under this act, no employee of a public elementary or secondary school may inflict corporal punishment on a pupil, except in a school district for which corporal punishment is included as a disciplinary tool in the district's written policy on discipline established under section 160.261, RSMo. Reasonable force to quell a disturbance, for self-defense or to obtain possession of a weapon or dangerous object is not defined as corporal punishment under the act.
