HB 527 -- Disabled Firefighters' Retirement Benefits
This bill establishes that if a firefighter dies or becomes disabled due to a development of cancer affecting the skin or the central nervous, lymphatic, digestive, hematological, urinary, skeletal, oral, or prostate systems, it will be presumed that this cancer was developed in the line of duty unless proven otherwise. Computation of retirement benefits will be adjusted accordingly.
