HB 508 -- Municipal Ordinances
This bill clarifies the provision which allows a city to have an associate circuit judge hear cases involving violations of municipal ordinances, rather than a municipal judge. The bill changes the provision from associate circuit judge of the county to associate circuit judge of the circuit. This is necessary because judges are assigned by circuit, not by county, and many circuits include more than one county.
