HB 450 -- Liquor Control Funds

This bill changes the inspection fee on malt liquors from $1.86 per barrel to 16 cents per gallon. Of the 16 cents, 10 cents will be deposited in the Alcohol Abuse and Dependence Prevention and Rehabilitation Fund, which is created by the bill. The bill also increases the fee for selling spirituous liquors from $2 to $3 per gallon, of which $1 goes to the fund, and increases the fee for selling wine from 30 cents to 54 cents per gallon, of which 24 cents goes to the fund.

Proceeds received by the fund will be appropriated by the General Assembly for use by the Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse of the Department of Mental Health to support community-- based programs for the prevention of alcohol abuse and dependence for the rehabilitation of persons affected by alcohol dependence.
