HB 214 -- Outdoor Advertising

This bill prohibits cities and counties from prohibiting outdoor advertising in any zoned commercial and industrial areas. However, whenever a county or municipal zoning authority has adopted local laws or ordinances with regard to size, lighting, and spacing which comply with state provisions, then from the effective date of such regulations, as long as they are in effect, the state provisions will not apply. The bill spells out the limits local authority may have in regulating outdoor advertising in any zoned commercial and industrial area adjacent to state highways.
