HB 168 -- Concealed Weapons

This bill permits a merchant or person engaged in the business of selling goods, wares, or merchandise to possess a concealable knife, firearm, blackjack, or any other weapon readily capable of lethal use if he or she is at his or her place of business, travelling to or from his or her place of business, or travelling to or from a financial institution without committing the class D felony of unlawful use of a weapon. Merchants and persons engaged in the business of selling goods, wares, or merchandise are not exempted from acquiring a permit to acquire, transfer, or possess any concealable firearm. Retired peace officers may also possess a concealable knife, firearm, blackjack or any other weapon readily capable of lethal use without committing the Class D felony of unlawful use of a weapon.
