HB 145 -- Professional Land Surveyor

This bill defines the term "professional land surveyor" as any person who renders any services which requires education, training, and experience in land surveying and related skills and who uses the term "surveyor" alone or in combination with the words "registered," "professional," or "land." Under the bill a surveyor will be able to provide staking of buildings, roads, utilities or other improvements for the purpose of construction.

The bill also defines the term "engineering surveys" to exclude the surveying of real property for the establishment of land boundaries, rights-of-ways, easements and the dependent or independent surveys or resurveys of the public land system. Licensed architects or professional engineers are not prohibited from performing work related to the respective practice of architecture or engineering by the bill.
