Current Bill Summary

SB 783 - Under this act, child care facilities shall be considered authorized entities that may acquire and stock a supply of epinephrine auto-injectors under state law.

Before July 1, 2027, each licensed child care provider shall adopt a policy on allergy prevention and response with a focus on potentially deadly food-borne allergies, as specified in the act. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education shall develop a model policy or policies before July 1, 2026.

This act is identical to HB 580 (2025), substantially similar to provisions in SB 548 (2025), SCS/SB 317 (2025), and HCS/HB 2824 (2024), and similar to provisions in HCS/SB 94 (2025) and HCS/SS/SB 7 (2025).
