Current Bill Summary

SB 1157 - This act provides that a participant of any retirement system established by the state or any political subdivision or instrumentality of the state who is an elected or appointed public official removed from office pursuant to a quo warranto action shall not be eligible to receive benefits from the system for service rendered while in the office of which he or she was removed. The participant may request a refund of contributions, including interest. The relator of the quo warranto action shall send the permanent writ to the appropriate plan and provide information in connection with such action.

This act is identical to SB 719 (2023).
