Current Bill Summary

SB 704 - This act requires the State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts to approve applications for physician licensure forty-five days after submission by the applicant. Additionally, the Board shall accept as satisfactory completion of certain regulatory postgraduate training requirements a candidate's completion of unaccredited training when the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) does not have an accredited program for the medical subspecialty, but such training occurs in an ACGME-accredited teaching hospital. The Board shall not require an applicant for physician licensure to complete certain regulatory postgraduate training requirements if the applicant has been licensed in good standing in another state for more than 3 years and the applicant is employed by, or provides services at, a hospital that has ACGME-accredited training programs.
