SJR 5 - Under current law, initiative petitions proposing constitutional amendments must be approved by a simple majority of the votes cast at the election in order to take effect. This joint resolution, if approved by the voters, requires such initiative petitions to be approved by at least 60% of the votes cast in order for the measure to take effect. This resolution is substantially similar to a provision in SCS/SJR 37 (2022).
