SB 1191 - Under current law, noncharter counties must prepare and publish a county financial statement in a newspaper by the first Monday in March of each year. This act changes the date to June 30th of each year.
Additionally, under current law, the county treasurer shall not pay the county commission until notice is received from the state auditor that the county's financial statement has been published in a newspaper after the first day of April.
This act changes the date to after July 1st of each year.
This act is identical to provisions in the truly agreed to and finally passed CCS/SS/SCS/HCS/HB 1606 (2022) and SCS/HB 1541 (2022).
