Current Bill Summary

SB 1035 - Under this act, the Conservation Commission shall not require any resident or nonresident landowner to register the landowner's property before receiving a landowner hunting permit or possessing any hunting permit to take wildlife on the landowner's property.

The Commission shall issue any landowner hunting permit requested by any resident or nonresident landowner who owns at least 5 acres of real property and requests such permit.

Under the act, a landowner may request any hunting permit authorizing the taking of wildlife on the landowner's property for a 2-day period on behalf of one nonresident immediate family member of the landowner.

This act is identical to HB 1694 (2022) and similar to SB 427 (2021), HB 1010 (2021), and HB 2537 (2020).
