HB 2387 - Current federal law requires a soybean producer to remit an assessment equal to 0.5% of the net market price of the soybeans sold. This act provides that as long as such federal assessment is equal to 0.5%, the assessment imposed and levied under state law shall be equal to one-half of the federal assessment. If the federal assessment is reduced to less than 0.5% or is eliminated, the state assessment shall be equal to 0.5% of the net market price, as defined in the act, of the soybeans sold.

This provision is identical to a provision in the truly agreed CCS/SS/SCS/HCS/HB 1720 (2022), a provision in SCS/SB 705 (2022), a provision in SCS/SB 750 (2022), and similar to SB 1030 (2022).
