SJR 57 - Currently, the Missouri Constitution allows the Highways and Transportation Commission to expend money from the State Road Fund without an appropriation by the General Assembly.

This constitutional amendment, if approved by voters, repeals this authority with regard to the employment of personnel for highway system purposes, and provides for the General Assembly to appropriate funds for the employment from certain revenues otherwise dedicated to the State Road Fund.

This constitutional amendment is similar to SJR 56 (2022), SJR 58 (2022), and SJR 59 (2022).
