Current Bill Summary

SB 895 - This act provides that a person commits the offense of unlawful transfer of weapons if he or she knowingly sells, leases, loans, gives away, or delivers a firearm to any person who is on the Terrorist Screening Center's No Fly List or to any person who is a member of an international or domestic terrorist group. This offense shall be a Class A misdemeanor.

Additionally, this act modifies the offense of unlawful possession of a firearm by adding a person who appears on the Terrorist Screening Center's No fly List and a person who is a member of an international or domestic terrorist group to people who are prohibited from possessing firearms. This offense shall be a Class A misdemeanor.

This act is identical to SB 186 (2021) and HB 1496 (2020).
