Sen. Crawford’s Capitol Report, for the Week of Jan. 20

The Missouri General Assembly has now completed the first three weeks of the 2020 legislative session. The bulk of our activity has been in committee hearings, which is normal in the beginning. This gives us the opportunity to hear from people with opinions about the bills and proposals being discussed and debated by members of the Missouri General Assembly.

In addition to my other committee assignments, I have the honor of chairing the Missouri Senate Local Government and Elections Committee. This panel considers bills relating to county government, township organizations and political subdivisions. The committee also hears matters referred to it relating to election law.

We are likely to start discussing some of the first bills for the year on the floor of the Missouri Senate when lawmakers return to Jefferson City on Jan. 27. I will keep you informed of these actions, and some of my legislation, as we move through the legislative session.

I am honored to serve as your senator in the Missouri Senate. If, at any time, you have questions, concerns or ideas regarding state government, please feel free to contact me at (573) 751-8793 or Sandy.Crawford@senate.mo.gov.
