Current Bill Summary

SB 1050 - This act prohibits a website operator from intentionally using an internet domain name in a ticket website's URL that contains the name of the venue, name of an exhibition or performance, or any name substantially similar to such venue, exhibition, or performance. This act does not apply to website operators who are authorized by the venue to be acting upon its behalf. The Attorney General may enforce the provisions of this act, and the court may impose a civil penalty not to exceed $2,500 for each violation.

This act is identical to HB 2698 (2020), SB 511 (2019), and HB 905 (2019) and substantially similar to SB 952 (2018) and HB 2527 (2018).
