Current Bill Summary

SB 886 - Under this act, fire-resistant material applicators, or individuals who apply fire-resistant material, shall undergo training to apply fire-resistant material according to manufacturer specifications. Every fire-resistant material applicator shall annually register with the state fire marshal. Once a fire-resistant material applicator completes his or her training and registers with the state fire marshal, the state fire marshal shall issue a certificate to the fire-resistant material applicator.

Any person applying fire-resistant material who does not receive training, register, and obtain a certificate from the state fire marshal shall be fined up to $250 per violation.
