Current Bill Summary

SB 719 - This act provides any person or persons that operate or cause the operation of an unsafe motor vehicle transporting goods or persons within the state are guilty of a class C misdemeanor if they had knowledge of the unsafe condition. Such person or persons shall be guilty of a class A misdemeanor if an injury results from the operation of the unsafe motor vehicle. Finally, if a death results from the operation of an unsafe motor vehicle, then such person shall be guilty of a class C felony.

This act is substantially similar to HB 2510 (2018).
