Current Bill Summary

SB 15 - This act provides that the Governor may remove any circuit attorney from office for any crimes, misconduct, willful neglect of duty, corruption in office, or incompetency in office.

Immediately after the removal of the circuit attorney, the Governor shall appoint and commission a successor circuit attorney who shall possess the qualifications required for the office as prescribed by law. The successor shall perform the duties of the circuit attorney.
