SB 8 - This act creates the Justice Safety Valve Act, which allows the court to depart from a statutorily required minimum prison term when sentencing a defendant found guilty of an offense. The court may not depart from the statutory minimum sentence for certain offenses as specified in the act. This act is identical to SCS/SB 748 (2018). CHARLEY MERRIWEATHER
