Current Bill Summary

SB 1080 - This act provides that upon a petition of the state, a circuit court may add any condition to a term of probation for an offender supervised in Missouri under the Interstate Compact for Parolees and Probationers. When the supervision of a parolee is administered under the Compact, the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole shall have the authority to impose a sanction or additional conditions in response to written violations of supervision. Neither the state, nor the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole shall have the authority to reduce, extend, or revoke a term of probation or parole.

This act establishes that a Missouri probationer or parolee seeking transfer of their supervision through the Compact shall pay a transfer fee of $175, which shall be deposited in the newly created "Missouri Interstate Compact Fund". The fee may be waived if it constitutes an undue economic burden on the offender.

Any necessary and proper expenses that occur as a result of a person being returned to Missouri under the provisions of the Compact may be paid out of the Compact Fund or out of the state treasury.

This act is substantially similar to HB 2609 (2018).
