SS/SCS/SB 918 - Under this act, political subdivisions are prohibited from imposing any order, ordinance, policy, or regulation prohibiting the use of a working animal or prohibiting working animals on public streets. However, political subdivisions may adopt rules and regulations governing such animals so long as such rules are not intended to ban the use of a working animal, or if such rules are limited to ensuring the public health, safety, and welfare, or the health and welfare of the animal. For purposes of this act, "working animal" means the use of any animal for the purpose of performing a specific duty or function in entertainment, transportation, or educational exhibits. KAYLA HAHN
