SCS/SB 598 - This act requires that the Department of Transportation utility corridor be up to 12 feet wide when space is reasonably available. The location, construction, maintenance, removal, and relocation of any utility facility under this act shall be performed in accordance with existing law. This act also requires the State Highways and Transportation Commission to promulgate rules setting forth a standardized system for requesting and issuing variances to certain requirements. This act is similar to SB 380 (2017) and HB 1310 (2015). KAYLA HAHN
