HCB 4 Modifies provisions relating to workforce development

HCB 4 - This act provides students the opportunity to choose between the ACT WorkKeys assessment or ACT assessment, including ACT Plus Writing, in any school year in which the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education directs a state-funded census administration of the ACT assessment. (Section 160.572)

This provision is identical to HB 94 (2017) and to a provision contained in SCS/SBs 44 & 63 (2017), SS#2/SCS/SB 313 (2017), and SCS/HCS/HB 253 (2017).

This act provides that any hours spent in a local business externship, as defined in the act, shall count as contact hours of professional development for the purposes of qualifying for a teacher's licence. (Section 168.024)

This provision is identical to HB 799 (2017).

This act allows the Department of Economic Development to provide assistance through the Missouri Works Job Development Fund to a consortium of companies if a majority of the consortium are qualified companies. (Section 620.806)

This provision is identical to a provision contained in SCS/HB 93 (2017), SCS/HB 680 (2017), and SS/SCS/SB 10 (2017).
