SCS/HCS/HB 66 - This act requires the Department of Health and Senior Services, beginning January 1, 2019, and subject to appropriations, to expand current newborn requirements to include spinal muscular atrophy and Hunter syndrome.

This act also requires every newborn screening specimen to be submitted to the Department laboratories within 24 hours of collection and for the laboratories to process the specimens within 24 hours of receipt.

Provisions of this act are identical to provision in CCS/SB 50 (2017).
