Senator Mike Parson- Do You Know an Outstanding Senior Citizen?

Parson - Legislative Column Banner - 021611

A wonderful opportunity exists for you to recognize and honor an outstanding senior citizen in our area. The Senior Service Award promotes and highlights positive accomplishments Missouri’s senior citizens make in their local communities. Hundreds of seniors have been honored with this award. The Lt. Governor’s office will again recognize exceptional seniors from across Missouri at the annual Senior Service Award banquet here at the Capitol in May.

Each winner will receive an official Declaration from the Lt. Governor’s office and an invitation to the award banquet. Every nominee will receive a certificate of recognition, noting they were recognized, by you, for their service. Individuals should be at least 60 years of age and volunteer a minimum of 25 hours per year.

To nominate someone for this year’s Senior Service Award, please go to the official website, www.ltgov.mo.gov to access the nomination form and submission details. The deadline to submit your nomination is March 15, 2016.

Thank you for helping make this program a great success by bringing much-deserved recognition to our senior volunteers. Please do not hesitate to contact my office at (573) 751-8793 if you have questions.
