JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Jamilah Nasheed, D-St. Louis, today introduced a resolution discouraging the Maryland Heights City Council from awarding any tax increment financing (TIF) to developer Stan Kroenke or his partner.
Mr. Kroenke recently became the subject of media attention after he moved the St. Louis Rams football team to California. The resolution noted his disregard of St. Louisans who have supported the Rams, and cites the direct economic harm done by relocating the team.
Senator Nasheed stated, “Businesses that purposefully act against the good of Missouri should not be rewarded with more tax benefits.”
