Senator David Pearce Sponsors 21st District Citizen to State Authority

JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. David Pearce, R-Warrensburg, sponsored a local resident for a state authority appointment before the Senate Gubernatorial Appointments Committee Wednesday, Feb. 3. The senator spoke on behalf of William R. Thiel of Marshall as a member of the Missouri Agricultural and Small Business Development Authority (MASBDA).

Thiel, has raised cattle, corn, soybeans and cattle in the Mid-Missouri area as a family farm partner for the past 42 years. He is active with the National Corn Growers Association’s political action and ethanol committees, and has been recognized as the NCGA top national recruiter. Thiel has also served as the President of the Missouri Corn Growers Association, a board member of the Marshall Saline Development Corporation and the chairman of the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council.

“Mr. Thiel is a longtime leader in Missouri’s number one industry,” Sen. Pearce said. “His passion for the agricultural industry and his knowledge of the market will help the Missouri Agriculture and Small Business Development Authority create opportunities for our state’s farmers and agricultural enterprises.”

The MASBDA helps create opportunities for success for Missouri farmers and agribusiness by providing counseling, information and training for business planning, marketing and brand development.
