Senate Committee Substitute

SCS/SB 751 - This act modifies provisions relating to event tickets.

This act bans the sale of event tickets that have a credit card entry restriction to consumers without a signed acknowledgment by the consumer. Such acknowledgment shall be signed prior to the beginning of any time limitation placed on electronic event ticket purchases, and prior to the purchase of such event ticket for all other purchases. The acknowledgment shall also include certain information as set forth in this act. Further, this act requires that event ticket vendors take certain actions, including maintaining a toll-free telephone number and implementing a standard refund policy.

Under this act, violating this act or knowing or using software to circumvent an event ticket vendor website shall be considered an unlawful practice.

This act is similar to HB 2715 (2016) and SB 516 (2015).
