HB 1710 Modifies provisions relating to the teacher and school employee retirement systems

HB 1710 - Retired members of the Public School Retirement System of Kansas City and the Missouri Public School Retirement System may continue to receive a retirement allowance while working for a third party or acting as an independent contractor as a substitute teacher provided that, for members of the PSRS-KC, such employment shall not be for more than six hundred hours in a school year and shall not pay more than fifty percent of the member's annual salary earned prior to retirement, and for members of the PSRS such employment shall not be for more than five hundred fifty hours and shall not pay more than fifty percent of the member's annual salary earned prior to retirement.

This act is identical to HCS/HB 1085 (2015) and to provisions contained in CCS#2/HCS/SCS/SB 172 (2015) and HCS/SCS/SB 270 (2015).
