HB 2058 - This act establishes the "Cronkite New Voices Act".

This act provides that a student journalist, as defined in the act, shall have freedom of speech and press in school-sponsored media, regardless of whether the media is supported financially by the school district or is produced in conjunction with a class in which the student is enrolled.

This act does not protect certain types of speech, as described in the act.

This act applies to public elementary and secondary school districts as well as public institutions of higher education.
