SJR 40 - This proposed constitutional amendment, if approved by the voters, would provide that when the Citizens' Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials establishes the compensation amount for each respective position the Commission shall do so at a specific dollar amount. If the General Assembly disapproves a compensation schedule by concurrent resolution, as provided under current law, then each affected person shall continue to receive the specific dollar amount established in the last previous schedule not disapproved by the General Assembly.
