Current Bill Summary

SB 913 - This act adds four definitions to the watercraft regulation and licensing chapter, including "certificate of number", "identification number", "outboard", and "state of principal operation", removes the definition for "motorboat" and makes minor modifications to several other definitions for the chapter. This act also adds requirements to the application for numbering of a vessel allowing for more precise identification of the applicants. This act also requires that vessels be submitted to authorized law enforcement to inspect the presence and location of the unique identification number plate. Additionally, this act adds non-motorized vessels, unless the non-motorized vessel is a sail boat more than twelve feet in length, to the category of vessels which are not required to be titled or numbered.

This act is effective on January 1, 2017.

This act is substantially similar to HB 2358 (2016).
