Senate Committee Substitute

SCS/SB 270 - This act modifies the membership of the boards of trustees of the Kansas City Public School Retirement System and the Public School Retirement System of the City of St. Louis.

KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOL RETIREMENT SYSTEM: For KC-PSRS, this act reduces the number of trustees elected by the members of the retirement system from four to three beginning at the election in 2016. Beginning at the election in 2016, one member will be a teacher or administrator of a charter school located in the Kansas City School District. This trustee will be elected for a term of four years by the members of the retirement system. (Section 169.291)

PUBLIC SCHOOL RETIREMENT SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS: For PSRS-STL, this act increases the number of trustees from eleven to twelve. The twelfth trustee will be a teacher or administrator of a charter school located in the St. Louis City School District. The trustee will be elected for a term of four years by the members of the retirement system. This act also increases the number of votes needed for the board to make any decision from six to seven. (Section 169.450)
