SB 214 - Currently, every person who expends labor, services, skill, or material upon any chattel at the request of its owner in the amount of $25 or less receives a lien upon such property beginning on the date that labor, service, skill, or material is expended. This act increases that limit to $500. Current law states that chattels not exceeding $100 in value that are not redeemed within one year of the agreed upon date for redemption are deemed abandoned in favor of the lienor.
