Introduced

SB 214 - Currently, every person who expends labor, services, skill, or material upon any chattel at the request of its owner in the amount of $25 or less receives a lien upon such property beginning on the date that labor, service, skill, or material is expended. This act increases that limit to $500.

Current law states that chattels not exceeding $100 in value that are not redeemed within one year of the agreed upon date for redemption are deemed abandoned in favor of the lienor. This act increases such value to $500.
