Current Bill Summary

SB 977 - This act allows managed care organizations to offer incentives to encourage the use of specified primary care or preventive care services. Incentive programs shall be permitted to offer and market incentives that have some health or child development-related function. The incentive program shall not include the provision of gambling, alcohol, tobacco or drugs, except for over-the-counter drugs, in any of its incentives and shall notify participants that the incentive may not be used for such purposes. The incentive program shall be approved by the Department of Social Services and shall contain a detailed description of the incentive and its mission.
