SB 585 - Currently, punitive damages cannot exceed the greater of five hundred thousand dollars or five times the net amount of the judgment awarded to the plaintiff. This act modifies the language to provide that punitive damages cannot exceed the greater of five hundred thousand dollars or five times the net amount of the compensatory damages awarded to the plaintiff.
