SB 769 - This act requires all health benefit plans to provide coverage for the diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders. The act also prohibits various acts by health benefit plans that may disincentivize providers from providing treatment or patients from accepting less treatment than is permitted under the act. The act further requires that the provided coverage include a broad array of specialist services as proscribed as necessary by the patient's treatment team. The act requires that services covered by the act require no greater deductible or co-payment than other health care services provided by the health benefit plan. Supplemental insurance policies are exempted from the requirements of the act.

This act is identical to HB 1493 (2014) and similar to SB 160 (2013), SB 634 (2012), SB 229 (2011), SB 744 (2010), SB 463 (2009), and HB 519 (2009).
