HCS/HB 1156- This act requires, by September 1, 2014, the Department of Social Services, in cooperation with the Departments of Health and Senior Services and Mental Health, to establish a committee to assess the continuation of the Money Follows the Person Demonstration Program in order to support Missourians who have disabilities and those who are aging to transition from nursing facilities or habilitation centers to quality community settings. The committee shall study the sustainability of the program beyond the current demonstration time frame for all transitions to occur by September 30, 2018.

The Director of the Department of Social Services shall administer and choose the committee members. The act delineates a list of the committee's duties including such duties as reviewing the extent to which the program has achieved its purposes and any possible improvements to the program.

In addition to representative from the three departments, the act specifies the list of required committee members including those from the Centers for Independent Living, Missouri Assistive Technology Council, Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council, and nursing home industry. The committee may also include other members or workgroups deemed necessary to accomplish its purpose including members of the General Assembly.

By July 1, 2015, recommendations based on the findings of the committee shall be reported to the General Assembly and the Governor. The provisions of this act shall expire on January 1, 2016.
