Current Bill Summary

SJR 37 - Currently, the Missouri Constitution provides for the appointment of commissioners of the Supreme Court, positions which are no longer in existence, to serve on a state legislative district reapportionment commission. In the event that the Supreme Court commissioners are unavailable then appellate judges are appointed to serve as the reapportionment commission. This proposed constitutional amendment, if approved by the voters, removes this language.

This act is identical to SCS/SJR 8 (2013).
