SB 249 - Any parent or guardian who chooses to send his or her child to a public, private, parochial, parish school, or combination thereof, in the St. Louis City School District or Kansas City School District must do as at age five. This change will begin in the 2014-2015 school year. This change will not apply to any parent or guardian who intends to enroll his or her child in a home school.

This act is identical to HB 563 (2013), is similar to a provision contained in HB 821 (2013), and is similar to SB 643 (2012), HB 1843 (2012), SB 124 (2011) and HB 835 (2011).
