SB 489 - This act reenacts a provision that was rescinded from law by HB 294 (2011). The provision authorizes the use of certain otherwise unlawful weapons if the weapons are being dealt with as curios, ornaments, or keepsakes. Training requirements for concealed carry endorsement applicants were increased in HB 294 (2011). This act adopts a grandfather clause for those who were issued a firearms safety training certificate prior to the date the standards were increased, so these certificate-holders can receive a concealed carry endorsement without having to retake a training course.
