Current Bill Summary

- Prepared by Senate Research -

HB 1359 – This act prohibits any state employee in a decision-making position for state contracts from taking employment with any business, company, or other entity for which the employee was in a decision-making position for that state contract for at least two years from the date when the contract was initiated. (Section 34.400)

This act requires the State Board of Education, by contract, to ensure that the results of the statewide student assessments in grades three through eight are statistically analyzed to determine patterns showing unexpected increases or decreases for a particular attendance center. The State Board must review the results of the analysis to make a preliminary determination on the validity of the attendance center's results. The State Board must share the results with the superintendent and school board of each affected district and annually report the results at an open meeting.

This section is identical to HB 1986 (2012). (Section 160.526)
