SB 435 - The Department of Mental Health is authorized to enter into a contract agreement with one or more county jails for the confinement of sexually violent predators. Such persons confined in a county jail shall be housed separately from other offenders. This act also allows the Department of Mental Health to detain persons, after a probable cause hearing, at a county jail prior to their commitment to the Department of Mental Health as sexually violent predators.
