SB 133 – Current law provides that an alien unlawfully present in the United States shall not receive any state or local public benefit. The definition of "public benefit" currently includes postsecondary education. This act modifies the definition of "public benefit" to mean postsecondary education pursued with the status of resident. In addition, a student who is enrolled as a nonresident at a Missouri public institution of higher education will not be considered to be receiving a public benefit based solely on attendance at such institution.MICHAEL RUFF
