SB 564 - Currently, a private four-year college or university located in the city of St. Louis may sponsor a charter school. This act authorizes a private college or university with its primary campus in the school district or in a county adjacent to the county in which the district is located to sponsor a charter school. Further, the mayor of the city of St. Louis is also authorized to sponsor a charter school. Under current law, the mayor of St. Louis may request a sponsor for a workplace charter school. This act provides that in St. Louis, charter schools also include workplace charter schools.
