Current Bill Summary

SCS/SB 485 - This act prohibits any person from advertising or conducting a live musical performance in Missouri while using a false, deceptive, or misleading affiliation between the performing group and the original recording group except in certain circumstances as described in the act.

The Attorney General may seek an injunction for violations or suspected violations of the act. Violators shall be subject to a civil penalty of between $5,000 and $15,000 per violation in addition to paying restitution to any party damaged by the violation.

This act is similar to HB 399 (2007).
