SB 342 - Currently, St. Louis police officers of the rank of sergeant or above cannot receive additional compensation or comp time for overtime, court time, or standby court time. This act prohibits such compensation for officers of the rank of lieutenant or above, but sergeants are allowed to receive additional compensation for overtime if the accumulated time is over 40 hours. This act allows the St. Louis Board of Police Commissioners to pay additional compensation for all hours of service rendered by sergeants in excess of the established regular working hours.
